STEPS provides support to families and individuals and works to raise awareness and understanding about clubfoot, hip dysplasia and other lower limb conditions.
Last year over 2000 families contacted STEPS, often in desperation, for clear information about their child’s condition, treatment options available and how to care for their child on a daily basis.
STEPS is entirely independent of the NHS and relies solely on charitable donations for its survival.

The Government's Gift Aid scheme allows us to reclaim tax on donations from April 2000 and into the future. That means that for every £1 you give to STEPS, we can now reclaim 25p from the tax man.
The deal is, you have to be a UK taxpayer and you have to give your address to the charity, but it’s a painless way to give more. All you have to do is fill in a Gift Aid declaration. This means that you confirm that you are a UK tax payer and that you are happy for us to reclaim the tax. All donations qualify – large or small, regular or one-off, and whatever the method of payment.

Donating regularly on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis is one of the very best ways in which you can support our work.
As a charity which relies solely on voluntary donations, regular donations allows us to plan for the future. Having a regular income stream from our direct debit donors means that we can plan ahead with confidence.

Weddings, birthdays and anniversaries are times for celebration and for giving gifts.. However, nowadays many of us already have all the material possessions we need and ask guests to make a donation to charity in lieu of presents.

Your funeral director may be able to help you by collecting and forwarding donations, or you can send them directly to our head office at the address below. You could also for donations in lieu of flowers and ask friends or relatives to send donations directly to us at the address below in your loved one's name. If you contact us to let us know that you will be collecting for us, we will acknowledge all donations sent in memory of your friend or relative

Payroll Giving is a scheme that enables you to give regularly to STEPS from your gross salary (before income tax is deducted). It is simple, quick and effective and guarantees a regular flow of funds to support children and families affected by clubfoot, hip dysplasia and other lower limb conditions.
Your Payroll Gift is an easy tax-effective way to give monthly to STEPS so it costs you less to give more. For example, if you choose to give £10 per month, the amount you actually pay is
Ask your employer about giving to STEPS through your payroll and if they don’t offer the scheme, you could always set up a direct debit payment.
Remembering STEPS in your will means you are giving a gift from one generation to the next, and your gift will not cost you a penny during your lifetime.
You do not have to be wealthy to leave a gift in your Will and we understand that you will probably want to provide for your loved ones before making any donation. However, a gift of any size will make a huge difference to a small charity like STEPS.
Our work is vital and it needs to continue. Our vision is that anyone affected by clubfoot, hip dysplasia and any other lower limb condition receives the best standard of treatment, information and support that they need.
You can help to make this vision a reality by leaving a gift in your Will. If you have already made a Will, but would like to leave a gift to STEPS you can do so by making a simple addition to your existing Will. This is called a Codicil.
If you do not have a Will at the moment, you may need to see a solicitor. Although you will have to pay a fee, you will receive sound professional advice and can be sure that your wishes will be achieved. Before you see a solicitor, it is useful to make a list of all your assets.
Most gifts made during your lifetime are tax-free, as long as you make them at least seven years before your death. If you don’t, inheritance tax will be taken from all that you own above the current threshold amount.
