Claire Furmedge Equipment Grant Fund

In 2007, STEPS set up an equipment fund in memory of Claire Furmedge, who was sadly killed in an inflatable art structure at a park in County Durham. Claire was a dedicated supporter for STEPS over many years, as her daughter was diagnosed with a hip condition as a baby.
The fund provides a valuable grant of £75 towards purchasing a car seat. Without this support some families would struggle to afford what is an essential piece of equipment.
As a small national charity, funds are limited – we receive no government grants for the fund and rely on individual donations from other families and supporters to enable us to help others in need.
"We are so grateful that the Claire Furmedge Grant enabled us to afford a car seat. This will really open up Evie's world which would have been so restricted , due to the location in where we live being so rural."

Gift Aid - at no extra cost to you!
The Government's Gift Aid scheme allows us to reclaim tax on donations from April 2000 and into the future. That means that for every £1 you give to STEPS, we can now reclaim 25p from the tax man.
The deal is, you have to be a UK taxpayer and you have to give your address to the charity, but it’s a painless way to give more. All you have to do is fill in a Gift Aid declaration. This means that you confirm that you are a UK tax payer and that you are happy for us to reclaim the tax. All donations qualify – large or small, regular or one-off, and whatever the method of payment.
