We are delighted to welcome onboard, snooker ledgend, Willie Thorne as STEPS patron.
Throughout his career, he gained a total of 14 tournament victories worldwide! ‘The Great WT’, as he is affectionately known, was a regular in the Top 16 World Rankings for well over a decade.
Willie is the World Record holder of the highest number of 147 breaks in the history of snooker (190) earning him the nickname 'Mr. Maximum.’
Since retiring from professional snooker, he has become a regular snooker commentator for the BBC and has also made many television appearances, mostly notably on BBC One’s 'Strictly Come Dancing.’
Willie Thorne says “I am delighted to be a patron of STEPS as my goddaughter was born with hip dysplasia so I have personally seen how the condition affects families. The information and support that STEPS provides to families is invaluable at this difficult and emotional time”.
