Helen Davies from Llanelli says,
'I feel I must share this tip with other parents who are caring for children in hip spica casts still in nappies. When Rosa, our seventeen month old daughter was put in a cast in February for DDH, we were told by the staff to cut up a newborn nappy and place it inside the cast. We did this for a while and found it messy, time consuming and expensive. I contacted my health visitor and asked her for large sanitory towells for Rosa, A huge box was delivered a couple of days later. We use two at a time, one going lengthways, and one going across to catch any side leakage. At night we also stuff a third in the front as Rosa turns onto her stomach during the night.' |
