Children and young people’s attitudes to their prosthesis
This conference held on the 28th June at the University of Southampton was the culmination of two years of research which explored children and young peoples' attitudes to their prostheses. This was the dissemination part of the research project which was quite unique as the conference was designed to be an interactive event to publicise the findings of the research project. Unique because health professionals, parents and carers and children and young people were all involved in hearing about the research and then participating in workshops which explored how they might want to take the research forward. There were also fun workshops involving making plaster casts of arms and legs.

In the evening children and their families were invited to attend a party as a thank you for supporting the research. Many of these families are now keen to be ambassadors for the findings of the research and many friendships were formed.
