The staff and friends of business Witham Oil and Paint Ltd have raised over £3,000 from fundraising events at their annual Christmas Ball.

Held in the New Year, the staff from all three factories in Lincoln, Lowestoft and Soham, together with their families and friends supported the annual Ball with an Auction and Raffle at the Assembly Rooms in the Bailgate.

Over 130 people attended and the money raised will be donated to four special charities chosen by staff and local singing group "Just Us", who sang at the event free of charge.

The charities to benefit are the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, The MacMillan Nurses, British Heart Foundation and STEPS, the Charity for children with lower limb conditions.

Managing Director, Nigel Bottom said" It is truly amazing what the staff and our friends and colleagues have raised this year, whilst hopefully having some fun too. I am so delighted with the money we have raised and how much the monies will mean to the charities. Everyone one of the charities has helped someone at the event this year and so it means a lot to us to assist whenever we can."

Nigel's own daughter Evie, was diagnosed with a hip problem last year and the STEPS charity helped him and his family out with information and support.
