Workplace Fundraising

Make your work place even more fun by organising some fun things to raise money for steps. Here are some ideas to get you going.

Sweepstakes
Having an office sweepstake for the Grand National, Wimbledon or other major event? Why not give steps the chance to win by allocating one competitor to us? Or you could donate 10% of the winnings to steps.

£1 raffle
Every week you pay £1 into the raffle pot. Add up the total for that week, then give 50% to steps.

Quizzes
Everyone loves a quiz. Try setting one up at lunchtime or after work. Great way to get teams together and have some fun.

The Food Run
Offer to pop out and buy breakfast or lunch for your busy colleagues. At 20p a go, five lunches a day will raise over £20 in a month.

Bake or buy
Bake or buy your cake, divide it into eight slices and sell them at 50p a shot. In six months you'll have raised over £100 and won the undying love of your workmates. Crumbs! Why not make it a Friday afternoon ritual?

Who's the baby
Embarrassment guaranteed when you collect everyone's baby photos. Charge people £1 to guess their identities. The bashful winner gets 25% of the pot.

Office Auction
You know that CD you'll never listen to in a million years, or those shocking "comedy" socks? Someone might like them. Bring them in and auction them in the office.

Desk sale
We've had car boot and garage sales. Why not stock your out tray with the trinkets you don't want anymore? Someone else may love those earrings!

Go hairless
Sponsored head or beard shave and get rid of that shock of hair, or that goatee! Or blokes how about a sponsored chest wax (ouch!)

Swear Box
You undertake not to swear, use vulgarity, innuendo or indulge in raucous cackling for one whole day. Set a day and publicise it well in advance. Appoint an independent arbiter to monitor your performance/s. No cash if you lapse

A bonus for steps
How about donating some of your bonus? Try and get your workmates to join you.

Sponsored stairs
Work in a high-rise building? Get workmates to sponsor you to use the stairs instead of the lift for a set week. Think you can make it?

Director service
Sponsor the directors to serve lunch, tea and coffee to staff members, with proceeds to steps

Work breakout
Challenge workmates to get as far away from work as possible within a day or a weekend. They are sponsored for every mile - provided they stay within the law and don't spend any money.
