In September 1984 a number of parents whose children had clubfoot got together as a contact group. It rapidly grew and in June 1986 an independent association was founded (VOK) At present VOK has 850 members. They hold an annual meeting for families to meet health professionals and produce newsletters three times a year.

STEPS and VOK historically have close connections, being involved in each others conferences and both are the main patient group contributors to the "Exploring the Causes of Clubfoot in Europe" ( ECCE ) research project with the Clubfoot Research group at the University of Aberdeen.
